Download UniHamper HQ, sign up with your phone number and store zip, and follow the setup wizard: your hours, your services, your prices, then connect Stripe so we can pay you. It takes about fifteen minutes. You keep your full rate — we take no commission from your prices.

Yes — that's deliberate. Students are who we market to, but nothing stops anyone else signing up and ordering. A customer needs a phone number and a zip; the university and dorm fields are optional.

So you can bring your existing regulars onto UniHamper and give them online ordering, live status, card payment, and a receipt — without building an app of your own. The simplest way: create an offer code on the Promos page and hand it to your customers. When they enter it, the order locks to your shop and comes straight to you instead of going out to other providers.

Think of it as digitising the business you already have, with the student demand on top rather than instead.

Every order starts as the customer's estimate. Once it's on your counter and you know the real number, you correct it — the customer approves, and you're paid on the corrected amount.

1. Open Dispatch (or Operations) and find the order.
2. Tap Adjust Price on the order card.
3. Enter what you actually have:
   • By load — type the real number of loads in Actual Load Count.
   • By weight — type the real pounds in Actual Weight (lbs).
   • Dry clean — set your price per garment (shirts, pants, jackets, suits, dresses, coats). The app adds up the subtotal for you.
4. Add a short Note to customer — optional, but it saves phone calls. For example: "Comforter was oversized, added a load."
5. Tap Confirm & Update Price.

The customer gets a text and a notification, taps Approve, and the order carries on exactly where it left off. If they take a while, tap Resend on the order card. One limit: $999 per order — split anything bigger into two.

Your earnings clear into your payout balance as orders complete, and go out on your payout schedule. Once we release a payout, Stripe settles it to your bank in 2 to 3 business days in most cases — a little longer over weekends and bank holidays. You can watch every stage on the Deposits page.

Standard is free. We pay out on the 1st and the 15th of every month at no charge.

Want your money sooner? Switch to Daily in Account → Payout Schedule and settled funds go out every day for a $0.99 admin fee per payout. Most shops stay on Standard and keep the fee.

Whatever works for your shop — you set your own prices and you keep them in full. Rates vary a lot by neighbourhood, so price for yours.

As a starting point: an average load is about 10 lbs, and a lot of shops land near $9.99 per load or $0.99 per pound. Look at what's charged around you, start there, and adjust — you can change your rates any time in Account.

Promos put your shop in front of customers browsing nearby. Every time your promo is displayed, viewed, or used, your impression count goes up. We keep a running tab, and each time it reaches $9.99 we charge the card you saved when you launched the promo. Pause or end a campaign any time from the Promos page — you're only ever billed for impressions already served.

You do. You're an independent business — you set your tax rate in the app, we collect it from the customer for you, and you remit it to your state. We don't file anything on your behalf.

To get your numbers: open Deposits, tap the round Uncle Sam icon at the top of the page, and you'll get a Tax & Settlement report — gross revenue, service fees, tax collected, delivery and priority fees, order by order. Filter it by Month to Date, Last Month, or Year to Date, then Download PDF and send it to your accountant.
